Bungie has not ever claimed that afaik. The list of exotics on the app for that days sector aren't meant to say that "4 exotics shown in the website / app mean 25% of one of them dropping.". Those are just the ones weighted to drop if you haven't gotten them yet. Farmable. Just do legends, you can scoot through them in about 3 minutes and eventually get all of that slot of exotics. I've seen exotics on my first run of a legend and as many as 25 before an exotic drop. Made awarlock a few weeks ago, ran one and went from no exotic arms to every single one of them with 2:30 completion times. Please buff the drop chance, in general, or just for platinum rewards. When this is my best chance for getting an exotic I want, it shouldn't take over 7 hours to get a single drop. This has literally lost me sleep. This should not be the norm for getting exotics. My friend who is getting back into the game, can't exactly farm for this long.

You are only getting exotics from a finite loot pool. If someone wants to farm for rolls lost sectors are an option. It's questionable whether or not lost sector farming is better than Nightfalls. Lost Sectors have a smaller loot pool, but lower drop rates. Nightfalls (at least Master or up) have a high drop rate, but the loot pool isn't limited.
