8 posts · Joined 2021. #1 · Sep 4, 2021. I have a 2003 Polaris sportsman 400 having a 4x4 issue. I’ve done many things to try and get it to work and still not sure if it actually engaging. Things I’ve done are bypass Speedo AWD light comes on now. Replace Hilliard clutch both sides along with armature plates. New hub fluid and hubs.

One of the big studs comes from the battery. The other big stud goes to the starter. The little one should come from the starter switch. So there should be 2 wires on the battery side. One big cable from the battery and a smaller wire that sends power to the starter switch. And make sure your kill switch is in the run position first.
