Lefever Nitro Special. Description: From a local estate a Lefever/Ithaca 12 ga double. 30" Bbls choked .690 (full) both. Born in 1925. Mirror bores with a few VERY small dents, brown patina. Extracters. Locks up like a bank vault on face. Old 1/2" crack behind tang, checkering worn but presentable. Whoops a Iver Johnson buttplate LOL.If the gun is functioning properly, I would advise against taking bit apart. The hammer springs can be a real bear, without special tools,, If you insist on cleaning, remove the butt plate, loosen the stock bolt enough to let the stock wiggle. then remove the trigger plate and use air pressure to blow out the action, oil very lightly and reassemble..The bores are bright and shiny with no fouling or pitting.
