Newly acquired 2005 Prairie 360 won't stay running without the choke on, it will run with the choke off just won't idle. I haven't tried to play with the carb because it's an hour away at my shop. When I got it I did pull the carb and clean it, but that's it.

The idle screw is on the right side. It is a good size piece that can be easily adjusted by hand. The air/fuel screw is on the front part of the bottom of the carb near the intake boot. If you loosen the clamp, you can turn the carb sideways enough to adjust it while still mounted. Based upon earlier advice here I set out to adjust the pilot screws out a bit to address some popping at low speed that appeared to start when the warm weather came. I finally got around to do this and have set the screw to 2 1/2 turns out for both carbs. This did seem to help some although didn't completely clear it up. In this video I quickly demonstrate how to replace the rubber diaphragm on a CV carburetor slider. Don't forget to let them dry before installing them!

While holding a steady, high idle, use the adjustment tool (short screwdriver that will fit in the space under the carb) to slowly screw the fuel mixture screw clockwise. Tighten the screw until the engine rpm drops (and nearly dies), then slowly turn the screw back out, counterclockwise.
