Crush washer direction.

I always thought that the crush washers were directional. I always put the rounded side towards the bolt. Makes sense to me as you want the flat side on the sealing surface, and that's the way I was taught in aviation school. The bolt shoulder won't distort but the pan may....thus the 'crushable' side of the washer, the 'non-flat' side, goes against the side that may not be flat...the oil pan side. The drain plug gets 33ft-lbs. Werd, The pan even has a slight indentation,and the drain plug is flat. Promotes a better seal.
