CA here. I failed every single Barbri essay and my actual Bar Essays were probably 10x worse, and yet I passed, so yes Barbri sets a higher bar (pardon the pun). However, I found the actual MBEs somewhat harder than the examples Barbri offered me. The rules they taught for their MBEs didn't seem to apply, but I knew the law so I passed that too.
