The boss isn't entirely random. It's determined by the number of coins you have if I remember right. Even for slime, odd for whale. You can also skip the boss level and go straight to the ghost one if you get through the ice one fast enough.

I've made it to that last level so many goddamn times. One time with 10 total lives. Still have yet to beat it. Junimo Cart is so goddamn hard. So congrats, truthfully, I understand how difficult it is
If it’s Gloshroom, my success rate is <5%. The run I just had. There was a single check point in the level, then no check point again that I saw. I made it ~90% of the way to the end and still hadn’t hit another check point. There are a few other levels where you can occasionally catch some bad level spawning/ RNG luck.
Agreed. Junimo Kart is still utterly awful. Everything about Stardew is relaxing and rewarding. Except for Junimo Kart. It’s comparable to the flappy goat achievement. It’s just not fun, at all.
