The same night I slept he came by again and said he "was too harsh on me the last time we spoke". He wasn't harsh on me at all in the initial dialogue so I'm just wondering if there's some dialogue I missed by putting in the diamond?Also, there is a large stump on the other side of the plank, so you can't access it until you upgrade your axe.
