Quite sad as it was fun (when I had an Android) to have my gym, trash disposal and transit card all on my phone. I'm actually expecting that to become possible again as more companies realize Apple opened up the NFC API.

I know it isn't expensive to produce and include NFC chips in amiibo, but you can't deny that amiibo would be cheaper (even if marginally) and probably more available if they didn't have it. I think the functionality of them currently sucks, and I don't think making you buy a figurine to have a costume in a game (smm) is a good thing.
